OMG! ... one minute its January...the next it's the April BBB leading onto May. Crazy how fast time passes!
Am sitting down this morning, drinking a large hot strong sweet Turkish Coffee reflecting on yesterday’s Birmingham Alternative Market, the 'BBB'.
It's a very Long day for Ray and I - up at 4am, leave home in Minehead (Somerset) by 5am, work our way along the A39/A38 up to the M5 and onwards to sunny Birmingham to the Nightingale Club, Kent Street, a lovely nightclub in the heart of Birmingham’s LGBT+ Community.
I had my normal stand on the ground floor, starting the day thinking "It's Easter Sunday, the most religious day of the year for Christians. I expect I will stand here all day, not sell very much but at least we will have a chat to our regular customer friends and fellow traders".... Fast forward to 5pm with our heads spinning, feeling shattered, with a 150 mile return trip still to do, but having sold so many outfits, corsets, lingerie and stockings... chatted to so many lovely people both old friends and New Friends and had such an enjoyable friendly, loving day. Great to see and chat with Dave too, joint creator of the BBB all those years ago. I suppose that takes this blog full circle - I'm not a religious person at all but I'm sure that enjoying life, having friends and loving should be the real message for any Easter.
I look forward to May’s amazing ‘BBB’ on 15th May!
